We don't use this van as a TV but I know there are probably some folks on the forum that do so. Anyway, the headlight lens on our van are almost completely fogged over. It's not something you can just wipe away but whatever it is almost seems to be etched in the plastic. Any ideas on how to remove this? I think it may be inside and out on the lens.

Thanks

Did you check for cracks in the cover, any moisture? If so,you're better off repacing it. If not;I use scratch out by Turtle Wax to clean the cover when detailing cars. If that doesn't work CLR works pretty well too.

You may find someone locally who does it. We've got a guy who drives around in a pick-up, with a sign on his truck telling how he'll fix your foggy lights....

Check out This site for something that is supposed to work.

I just did a google search "Cleaning headlights"...lots of results!

Hope that helps

Wow, $16 for that product seems high. You can use 2000 grit sand paper and polishing compound to make the headlights less "foggy". I am assuming you mean clouded plastic, not moisture inside the lens?

I also had good results just using an aluminum polish I had laying around. I did it to my 1993 Camry. Use a terry cloth (slightly damp), and rub the product back and forth in the same direction (I prefer going with the length of the light). Then you wipe it off with a clean cloth. It works very well, but sometimes the yellowing of the lens happens on the inside too......keep that in mind.

Our local Wal-Mart has a $10 package that has everything needed to restore the lens to almost new. Look in the headlight area.
