Suggestion. . Run the fan on HIGH full time, not AUTOMATIC

This generates a constant "Drone" which your mind quickly filters (At least mine does)

Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

To answer your question, yes the newer models have the air returns in the ceiling instead of on the a/c unit. You do not have to buy a Newmar to get ducted a/c.

On my last two RV's, if you put it on automatic, the fan will cycle on and off with the compressor. If you want a constant sound all night, set the fan to low, med or high. The compressor will cycle as needed but not make any more additional noise when it comes on.

I thought that it was hard on the compressor if the fan was set on low.

Explain why you think this. RV roof AC units are designed to operate at all fans speeds. Doug

Doug if you are asking if the A/C can operate at any of the fan speeds the answer is yes...mine will work on either low or high speed...I don't have a med speed...a/c's are generally designed for 400 cfm per ton of refrigeration effect...you can lower or raise this cfm to a certian point without damage to the system...I'm guessing the manufactures gave us this option for noise control...hope this answered your question...
