We have a 2003 Damon Challenger motorhome. It's been sitting for about a month & when I started it up this morning I noticed that the computerized odometer was difficult to read. Numbers & letters were faded & patchy, much like something coming out of a printer with near empty print cartridges. I let the engine run for about 10 minutes but the problem didn't seem to resolve itself. Reminded me of a calculator with very weak batteries. Wondered if anyone else has had this problem......Thanks.

My 2004 Workhorse with the 8.1 has had the instrument cluster replaced twice for bad display. Very common problem on the Workhorse gas chassis.

Your sig says you have a 329 Chevy workhorse. Never heard of that. The 8.1 is about 498 cubic inches.

I had the same issue but I can't remember if the instument cluster was replaced under a Workhorse recall, you may want to check. Also, it took 1 week for Guaranty, where it was replaced at, to get the part, so make plans accordingly.

I think your right about the faulty instrument cluster problem. I checked back through my re-registration vehicle history papers & found out the previous owner had replaced that odometer in July of 05. My next step will be to find a Damon dealer in the area & go from there. Thanks....
Yes, we have an 8.1 Workhorse. The coach model is 329 & I've ammended our signature & made it a bit clearer.... Thanks.

There has been a problem with the Actia display on WH chassis. If you got to IRV@,COM you will find many comments on the WH forum. I am on my third display on mine. Here in the States WH has to replace the display because of laws regarding accurate odometer readings. I must say the current one is much better than the previous one. They will have to get your current mileage and then order the new one for replacement with the correct reading already set. The 8.1 motor is 496 cubic inches.

I have a similiar problem. The odometer simply quit - no numbers, just dashes. I inquired on another forum and I was told that because I reported that the cluster instrumentation is working, my problem is not with the cluster itself but in the odometer. It appears that Fleetwood will have to some recalibration. Haven't got to it yet. I dread having the dash disassembled! Jim.

I had the same problem you are having. I called the workhorse customer service number in the manual and the gentleman that I talked to told me that there is an open recal on the actia odometer. That gentleman gave me the name of a workhorse service center which was only about 40 miles from my home. I did have to take the MH to them. They did their work and ordered the new odometer. It sure is much better. I can see the numbers now. It was all done under the recall. I took about a week from the time I took it to them until I got it back. Give Workhorse a call and if you don't have the number, PM me and I will get the number for you. Its in a workhorse book a friend gave to me.

My odometer just quit when I go my RV out of storage. No numbers, just dashes. I discovered that my predecessor owner had replaced the thing some years before! The old one was in a box of parts. It is a "PEMCO" plug in module. It has a battery welded into it! I believe that when the battery wears out - no odometer. I tried finding a replacement part, but can't find anything. Any ideas on how to fix that?
