Wondering how I would go about locating the correct locking gas cap for our 2003 Damon Challenger 329.

Take your old one to a NAPA dealer. Previous threads seem to point to the NAPA stores as having the best selections and if not they can usually order what you need. Cap is part of the chassis, so bring that info.

I went to them and got 2 caps with matching keys for the Allegro Bus without a problem.

Have read a number of instances of people cutting the fuel tube or punching a hole in the gas tank to get to the fuel when they had locked caps.....so something to think about..bob

I got one for mine at Auto Zone.
Next I removed the sticker telling what type of fuel to use. Next I am placing a label stating "Cooking oil conversion - NO GAS"

Most people who steal are not the brightest, my hope is that if they stop at my house they will be able to read and decide to go down the street to the next guy.

I don't think I have seen any post of anyone whose hose has been cut or tank ruptured. All have been "I have heard", about those things. Hopefully all of us here don't have to experience this and can continue to write I have heard.......

A locking cap is nothing I usually would consider, BUT, I park my diesel dully outside my shop, overnight and on weekends if I'm not using it, been doing it for years with no problem. The other morning I noticed my fuel cap door open. Because of the Billet cover I have it's not easy to open, now it's parked inside....

Read a report that they are stealing that too.

Have taken many a report of punctured gas tanks, mainly school buses. IMO because they are easy access and usually stored in dark lots over the weekend. But with the price of fuel going up, I would expect to see more. I do not lock mine as the damage caused to steal the fuel would far exceed the cost of the fuel itself. Consider the common thief would not have a 55 gal drum with them but rather a 5 gallon container. Siphon = 5 gallons...Puncture = 5 gallons stolen and 145 gallons left to drain onto the ground....JMHO

If it is a workhorse chassis then change "Damon Challanger" to "Chevy Silverado" and give the clerk the same engine size as in your coach

That works fine on my 2005 Intruder
