Traveling with two large dogs, having knowledge of the location of the next rest area on our planned route is very handy.
But highway rest area location seems to be missing from all the map displays of GPS navigators I have considered.
Any recommendations out there?

I don't know of any GPS that includes that information. The POI factory site used to have a rest area file, but I think it's been pulled for updating bceause it had a lot of inaccurate locations.

In my Garmin 750 go to "Points of Interest" then "Spell Name". type in "REST AREA and a whole list of nearby rest areas pop up.

My Garmin Nuvi 200 did it also.

But, half the time they're closed down for repairs.

tlbrown1, if your GPS doesn't have it, buy a copy of "The Next Exit." It shows all the exits on the interstates and what's there. I'd buy it anyway for the exit information.
