Has anyone pulled a 5th wheel form Bend to Salem? I've only got a 24 footer but which is the easiest, least hilly and winding route, OR-20 through Albany or OR-22?

I grew up in Dallas, Or. (They named a town in TX after it.)
Hwy 22 is as good a road as 20, and 19 miles shorter.

agree with the previous poster. Both roads are the same but 22 is shorter.

Definately 22, 20 has many tight turns, 22 not so much and 22 is in better condition as well.

I appreciate all the input, especially from you "locals". You've made my trip planning much easier.

I make this trip about a dozen times per year. 22 is an easier and faster drive. I've noticed that at least some of the mapping software considers 20 the more major road and the automatic routing selects it, even though 22 is better.

True I am not a local but I used to live in Portland and have traveled Hwy 22 many times. It is one of the most scenic drives around. You should really watch your speed around Mill City and Gates as I know from experience.
