Lug nuts and tire pressure checked before each trip out off the driveway. On Long trips I check again before the ride home (about 200 miles).

As for the guy checking his lugs every 100 miles, if it makes him feel safe going down the road who are we to argue.

I have aluminum wheels (I know, kinda dumb on a trailer, but that's what came on it!) and check about every 3-4 days on a long trip. Keep a torque wrench set at 140#, and very occassionally notice they're not quite up to spec, but have never found one "loose" either.

I think every 100 miles is prolly overkill but don't ignore them either.

Hi, it sounds like you have a "dial" type of torque wrench that clicks at the setting you dial to? To keep it accurate I suggest you dial it back to "zero" after torquing as they can become inaccurate if kept dialed up.

After removing a wheel I torque at abut 50 to 100 miles then after that abut 250 miles then maybe every other time I use the trailer. Never find any loose after the first 250 miles, very seldom find any needing torque after the first 100 miles.

Unfortunately, the last RV Dealer who put on my tires said no need to check torque - Yeah, they put them on so tight I can't begin to loosen as I found out when one developed a slow leak...

Trailer is parked, I will try to check torque before next trip.

Once I saw a Fiver going down the road with one wobbly wheel/tire, I was able to pull up alongside and let them know.

Have a great week!

Before a trip I check them all, if any are loose I will check when I stop again otherwise I leave it until I leave to come home. I carry a 3/4 breaker bar and a section of 1x1 tube to give me more leverage when removing them. That said I have not had any need to take them off on a trip, no punctures etc. I do carry my new jack, a 12 ton hydraulic/pneumatic so you can jack it up by hand or if you have access to air it works much easier. I bought it as I had a rear caliper seal leak and the disc on one side was scored too deep to have it machined out. I changed the disc and caliper on that side, other side was fine, and changed pads on all wheels. While I had it apart I also changed the rear axle seals. I always have a torque wrench along for tightening.

I check before every trip. I marked the lug nuts to see if there is any movement. Makes checking the wheels that much easier. Also the tire pressure on the trailer and the TV is checked before every trip. Always have the torque wrench and a air gauge in the truck.

In spring, and before each trip over 5000 miles. Rarely find any loose, and then only a tiny bit, but we have steel wheels.
