It's been years since I've been there, but it's on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and there are steps down to the beach. Not too much shade and I believe the sites were grassy.
We have camped there a number of times. We enjoyed it. To determine site size, shady, grassy, etc. go to Michigan.gov. Look for camping and harbor reservations. The camping reservations will provide info on the campground and individual sites.
