Travel at $4-5 per gallon gets real expensive pulling a tag or 5th wheel or driving a motorhome. I believe that those campgrounds that don't pay for all hours worked plus giving a site as part of the package will find it harder to get experienced workampers. Their loss.

NH, my observations and conversations has led me to believe that the park owners are taking advantage of the fuel situation also. They KNOW that fulltimers are cutting back travel, and therefore offer less in return.

I would suggest that you examine the entertainment industry or the vacation destination theme parks, They hire couples , work them the same hours, pay decent and some offer extras.

Take a look at Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Gatlinburg, Branson, All the Indian casinos, Sea Worlds, Busch gardens, disneys, etc in that vein. They all look for workampers and are very appealing to coouples.

Any suggestions on finding jobs in Branson? The web search didn't turn much up. Working in a live theater sounds interesting.

Branson is a good example of what CG owners/operators want for workampers. They offer tickets and discounts as do many RV parks in CA. All the attractions listed by WTTCS do not feed the bulldog if ya need monetary compensation like us where one is getting some retirement and the other has a coupla years to go to get anything.

Totally wrong. Nothing could be further from the truth. Quite a number of parks are offering help with the fuel for workampers.

Not my business, but I feel that you must have gotten burned by..... maybe a campground and are sour about them all ???

Actually for those who belong to "Workamper news", and are looking for positions; there are jobs listed and through comunications with parks that are offering upwards of $500 in help to get to a position.

Ah yes, I just saw the ad on the Hotline (Pumpkin/Christmas Tree). Not bad for some, but it wouldn't work for us as we absolutely have to work each season in its entirety. Good gig for someone who has additional means of income.

Cheers,

Let us discuss Branson, as we have worked there many times. If you google up the Branson Mo newspaper, you will find pages of help wanted for the shows. They pay wages, in real money, every week. In addition , you get to see every show that the placement companies work for. We , and I cant say you are savy enough, got a huge (really big) discount at out park, due to the placement company helping us with it.

We travel with a couple who does nothing but entertainment business and they make from 400 to 600 per week each gross (sometimes he works extra) , working hours that they like. They both work together, same hours, same place and ride a m/c to and from work. They live in a class A and for 24 years have done nothing except the entertainment and theme park venues.

You would not have these places if people didnt work there and they would not work if they didnt get paid. Indian casinos across the u.s. do the same thing, except some even provide free parking. (Many of the places we have worked, refuse to hire anyone but senior, or retired people , as the young uns, just will not show up to work)

Instead of complaining about it, check it out. It doesnt cost a dime to find out.

Ginabas, since you run a park, do you or your company pay any fuel, what wages, etc. You seem to know a lot about it.

Bowtiepuller and wife, who has traveled with us for 26 years have done nothing in those years, except manage rv parks. If I told you the truth and the stories, you would have a heart attack.
