planning on full timing soon. I was wondering about some of the normal things of life that would become a problem. How do you handle a jury duty? Do you just have to return home?

In our county in Florida, you just advise them that you are an RVer and out of state, then they excuse you. Of course being a retired FL LEO, I won't be called anyway.

Been a FTer with domicile in TX and currently domiciled in SD. Have only to let them know that you are a FT RVer and out of state and you are excused.

Depends on the policies of your local jurisdiction. Around here, nobody gets excused except for extreme medical reasons, but you do get one chance to reschedule it to any date you choose within the following year. Combined with out one day/one trial system, this reduces the burden to a very manageable level.

I'd suggest you go see the clerk who actually handles the process and explain your situation. They likely don't want the back and forth hassle of trying to deal with someone on the road either.
One solution might be to arrange to take your turn BEFORE you go.

I can't speak for other localities, but I remember a high school history teacher of mine in PA who swore he volunteered for jury duty saying he felt it would be good to experience that which he was teaching. He said they told him you can't volunteer. He was in his 50's when I had him and the man had never been called and amazing as it seems was quite upset at that fact.
I'm guessing that isn't something you can prearrange anywhere, but you never know.

That is exactly what I did before we hit the road.
From then on, I have been hounded and threatened by San Bernardino County, even tho we have been SD residents for nearly 5 years. Even DMV, who the county gets the names from, says I have not had a CA dl for nearly 5 years
If I had it to do all over again, I wonder if I would volunteer......once in the system......
