Put a 32 in place of old 26 in front and 26 in bedroom in place of 22 new tvs have 1 inch border around them so larger screen fits in hole used a rear mount that swivels out so you can push it back flush against old cabinet hole and velcro holds them when moving........jim k

I'm considering leaving the old 23" CRT in the cabinet, buying a 32" or 37" LCD, setting on the dash and running the coax thru a splitter to the new set.
Do you see any problems doing this revision?
That's what I will be doing in mine. Watched a movie last night in the MH to test it out. I ate the idea of buying a nice hdtv then leaving it unused when we are at home. The old crt tv will stay in for now and I will bring the hdtv from the house when we go on vacation.
I'm looking at a 32" Samsung. This thing is only 30lbs. Very easy to move around and I already have a storage spot for it.

It never occurred to me that I could put the frame of the tv behind the cabinet frame and get a larger picture! Duh!
Thanks!

I just replaced both TV's in mine. Put a 20" Sharp LCD HDTV on an arm mount in the bedroom, and a Toshiba 32" HDTV in the front. For the front one, I mounted a piece of 3/4" furniture grade plywood flush with the back of the hole on some 2x4's that are screwed to the metal box inside the hole. I found a commercial TV mount that locks in place, and mounted it to the plywood and hung the TV on it. Looks good, works good, and I can easily remove the TV to use it at home.
I have pictures if anyone is interested.

WOW! I just had a revelation!
I don't have to change anything about the existing oak cabinetry!! Or set the 32" LCD TV on the dash ... or make work for ourselves by removing and "storing" the LCD TV, when we travel.
Here's the plan ...
1. Remove the existing surround and CRT (to gain access to the inside of the TV cabinet "box". It also gives me access to the 110-volt power source and RCA coax "feed" connector)
2. Mount a 24" X 20" X 3/4" piece of (top grade) plywood, INSIDE the existing TV cabinet "box". The plywood can be "pocket screwed" to cleats, for strength.
3. Attach the back plate of the articulating TV wall mount to the plywood and
4. The back of the 32" TV attaches to the front plate of the wall mount.
The new 32" LCD TV (31.5" X 20.2" X 3.5") is actually shorter (less "tall") than the old 23" CRT and just 5" wider. It will "stick out" in front of the existing cabinetry the depth (3.5") of the LCD TV.
WOW ... is that brilliant, or what?
I'm going to try to take digital pictures of the process.

Frito, real close to what you came up with. I found an LG 32 LG30 at Circuit City Sunday. The back to the TV is much smaller than the other manufactures and will fit INSIDE of my 24 inch TV cabinet. Mounting it the same way you described, only the screen and frame that are 1.5 inches deep will protrude from the cabinet.

Let's see some pictures. How does the TV remain locked during travel if it is flat up against the cabinet? Is there enough room to reach behind and lock the arm somehow?
We want to change out our TV's, but I'm afraid I'll need a cabinet maker to make it look nice.
