If a signal is unscrambled it is called "clear QAM".

Maybe inferior wasn't the correct word, inadequate might be a better word. We're big Sports fans, we get the NFL & NHL packages which are not available on Dish. Additionally does Dish have a mobile package that works with the In Motion stuff in MH's?

I'm really not a 'sports' kinda guy, so who offers what sports is a mute point for me.
But as for your last question. This last weekend I finally finished 'tweaking' my HD upgrade in my motor home. Dish upgraded one of my old 311 satellite receivers with a ViP211 HD receiver and I now use that in the motor home.
I have a five year old motor home that came from the factory with a KVH In-Motion TrackVision LF system. This system uses just one LNB. When I turned on the KVH system this weekend it located satellite 61.5, download my program guide and to my surprise I'm getting HD channels without any upgrades or mods to my five year old KVH system.
I'm not sure this answers your 'mobile package that works with In Motion stuff' or not.
BTW - if our roof top KVH antenna is blocked because of trees or whatever. I do have a Dish 1000.2 antenna that has the 3 LNB setup that allows me to get satellites 110, 119 and 129. Aiming so far hasn't been anymore difficult then the Dish antenna using two LNBs.

Thanks!
The trick is to find a wide screen LCD (16x9) with speakers on the bottom. By doing a lot of measuring we replaced the front 27" CRT with a Sony 32" hd lcd (speakers on the bottom) and the bedroom 20" was replaced with an LG 23" hd lcd. They both fit right in the original frame and I still am able to bump my head entering the coach - sometimes!
Better picture, less weight and less power draw. Still haven't gone to HD sat or receivers yet as we are waiting a bit longer for channels and number of sats to settle in.

I have Directv and have installed the tri-sat switch and had KVH factory rep adjust everything but still don't get half of the HD channels. I get ESPN but not ESPN2 in HD. I love HD and want what I get a home while on the road. I'm hoping that when Directv get through moving their HD to the new bird, that it will work better.
Oldrvdoc,
Direct TV is moving all their HD programing to their KA band from the KU band. Once HD programming is moved no dome will be able to get Direct TV HD programming. Go to the KVH web site for a complete explanation. Dish network will continue HD programming in the current KU band so domes will be able to receive HD programming from Dish Network.
Sounds like KVH maybe working at making a few extra dollars if the poster that knows the DTV engineering rep knows what he is talking about. I can't see DTV forcing all their customers to change dishes as that would not only affect the domes but also all the dishes?

ThunderingQuiet,
Thanks for the heads up on the Dish thing. The thing that chafs me is the band switch that Oldrvdoc pointed out... have to wait and see how that unfolds
Might have to have DISH in the MH and DIRECTV at home... SOB's
