But I want to tow a car with me. So I need to sacrifice somewhere wouldn't I? ....it doesn't make sense to me.

A normal Sprinter B class can tow a less-than-5,000 pound car. And these are Bs with wardrobes.
But those are pretty large holdin tanks, so maybe the carrying capacity is somewhat less than most Sprinter Bs. 30 gallons of water is 240 pounds. If the black and grey are also full it's another 256 pounds.
I guess that thing won't carry as much of stuff as the typical Sprinter B.
Another too heavy Winnie.

Maybe I can talk the old lady into not going?.....I doubt it...I'm going to have to do some creative packing and some number crunching to make sure that that I stay in the limits of the units capacity. I hate having to do all that extra work that the winnie seems to offer....

Looked at the ERA a couple of days ago and was not impressed with the amount of storage and the cabinets. Wife liked the kitchen work space and the seats were nice. As far as the holding tanks, they are smaller than the ones we have on our sprinter but weight has never been a problem, even outfitted for Alaska we were still 400-500 lbs less than the 8550. Mach toth look on Colonialairstream.com, they have a couple of 2009 in stock with some great pictures and more information than the airstream website. It is an impressive looking unit, with a two-way refer, wiring for solar panels, and other features all on the 3500 chassis.

Airstream's 3500 seems to be the way to go then. I'm going to have to find a dealer near here that's got a 3500 to look at.

The ERA is 2 feet longer than the Adventurous, Plateau, LTV or GWV. 24' compared to 22'.

The Era Limited is 24' but the Era Touring is the 22'9(the same as all the others. Frankly I think Winnebago could have done better to utilize the additional 16" space in the Limited.

I had only seen the ERA Limited on the VAN City site. They didn't have an ERA Touring the last time I looked.

All that aside. I love how Airstream didn't put any graphics on it. It's a very clean and modern look. They offer two colors white and silver and I think the silver is just gorgeous looking.
It's classy with thoughtful placements of logos and badges to identify who and what but not to detract from the natural beauty of the thing.

Looks like new info on the Airstream. With the economy the way it is the dealerships should be getting pretty desperate. I wonder if I could get a dealer to reduce the Airstream price down. Though, Airstream seems to have put a little more thought and process into their particular B-van.
Anyone seen one up close?
