"mechanical problems with little benefit"

"A lot of mechanical issues as well"

Same thing my father said about air conditioning and power windows.

Seems like yesterday they were saying the same thing about slides.......

Yes it is. If I could afford it, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Thanks for the image!

I have plenty of outside space when I go camping (after all that is the whole idea). I want more inside space if anything, so to me it seems pointless.

The wind noise sure would be bad........whoops! Cycle that baby in BEFORE hitting the road.......LOL

LOL Man I can just see that, why is it so hard to stay in the lane today? Why so many people honking too? Seems like a lot of homemade convertibles on the road today, especially on the right side of the coach!

Originally slideouts weren't that popular either due to the weight penalty and were viewed as more of an attraction for fulltimers that parked for a month at a time.

Looks like a take off on the toy hauler door. I think if you are impaired and have a hard time climbing or in a wheelchair would be very convenient.

What happened to the roof deck idea? I think it was Airstream that once had a motorhome with a stairway to the roof, which could be set up like a deck. How about a vertical "slide-up" to make a two-story coach? (Tongue firmly in cheek)

Well it is not a "coach" but a toy box instead:

going up!

Keystone RV's Outback Loft was recently recognized by RV Business as Best In Show at the 45th Annual National RV Trade Show Louisville, Kentucky.

The Outback Loft is a 31 foot toy-hauler travel trailer that can expand to a second level.

According to Outback...

The Outback Loft looks like no other RV in the market. The second story extends up 6-feet, 3-inches above the roofline when you are camping and retracts into the attic when you are hitched up and on the road.

This second story bonus room is ideal for viewing racing events or enjoying the scenery at your favorite camp site. It also makes a nifty get away room for mom and dad, or a play room for the kids.

The Outback Loft utilizes multifunctional living space to deliver the features and floorplan you are looking for. A large “garage” in the rear of the Outback Loft accommodates motorcycles, quads, bicycles or hobby accessories. A ramp door on the curb side makes loading and unloading easy

I can't believe no one has mentioned footprints and barbecue stains on the floor, no I mean WALL. How much "stuff" is going to end up on the outside patio decking that is now the inside wall of the coach? Maybe I'm not getting how it works but the way a read it is that the 4.5 feet of patio space converts to the bottom 4.5 feet of the wall when it is closed. No?
