I always hated to hear, "What are WE going to do for the company today?"

By we, they usually are asking what "I" am going to do, not them, and what will it be that "I" am not going to be paid for.

One boss I use to work for always had this question to ask. "What do you want to do in this company overall?"

He usually asked that of someone who wasn't putting in more hours than they were being paid for....ie working off the clock to help promote the company and raise it's standing or income potential.

He always told people in meetings that it wasn't just working one's shift or scheduled timeframe that made the business successful, but it was what one did when they were off that was important. He suggested that everyone should do their best at work, and when your time was up, clock out and work at least another hour off the clock to help your "associates" get their part accomplished. It meant he expected you to work for nothing to help the company out. Help THEM out, and forget YOUR pay was what it amounts to.

If I don't meet your expectations
Maybe you should lower your standards.

I'd of reported him to the Alabama State Labor Board, right before dropping a dime on him with the Director of Human Resources in Bentonville. That clown wouldn't last in the real world of small business, unless his workers were under 15 years old and didn't have better sense. Outright promoting servile slave labor from employees, probably as a threat to their jobs.

I have a sweet tender nature, however I enjoy sharing my thoughts and opinions.

Robust - It's a way to say you want more functionality without having to be specific.

Challenge - It's a friggin' problem!

Vision statements and Mission statements - Sell stuff, make money. 'Nuff said.

Lets get at the "low hanging fruit". Used to describe things that are apparently easy to find, cut, abolish and downsize. Made me want to ram a watermelon (well you know the rest)....

The three that annoy me the most are:
1. 24/7
2. "At the end of the day"
3. Having "Issues" with someone or something etc.

FYI...

"associates" instead of saying employees.

Big titles for nothing jobs.

You forgot two other ones:

"Administrative Assistant" instead of Secretary
"Account Executive" instead of Salesman

From weekly staff meeting over the years..."lessons learned".

If management wasn't so lame brained we would be able to "go forward"!

Sometimes building a better mouse trap was not the problem.
