Hi! Has anyone stayed at Scenic Hills in Logan Ohio? If so, how big are the campsites? Can you reserve specific sites there? Are the premium sites worth the money?

Thanks!!!

Yep, stayed two nights about a month ago. Nice place, but the premium sites are much nicer, especially when it's rainy weather. The CG is hilly and well-treed. Roads & parking area of sites are gravel. It's a former KOA, and the current owners are trying hard to get it spiffed up, with good success. We had the whole place filled, so I dunno about specific site reservations.

Happy Hills is a reasonably nice campground as well.

Also, this is the first time I've seen Hocking Hills mentioned anywhere outside of Ohio and if you check license plates in the parking lot there will only be at most 1 non-Ohio plate. That area is the best kept secret in Ohio. (And I'm not telling where it is.)

We aren't going to make it here until August of 2011 so please keep the cat in the bag until after then - after looking at photos from others I can't wait to visit

Personally I like staying in the state park campground, it's cheap, they have electric, freshwater isn't too far and they have a dump station and free showers.

We were there in May for a few days, and found it to be one of the nicest parks we have ever visited (we have traveled 17 states and an unknown number of campgrounds). The owners are super, the premium sites absolutely great, the restrooms the cleanest I have ever seen, and the nearby cave area exciting to explore.

If you guys like Hocking Hills find the Tea Creek Campground in Monongahela National Forest in WV and then find a site along the Williams River to camp for free (or $5 now I think). I have now been to every state east of the Mississippi and most of them west, and I think it's the best outdoorsy/scenic area this side of the ol Miss. Dolly Sods, Cranberry Glades, and Seneca are the areas nearby it and I ordered them in magnitude of beauty. Dolly Sods really should be a national park, don't know why it isn't yet.
