Hello everyone,
Have a question for you all. We have a brand new Jayco 19H and am new to camping.
If a neighbors camp fire is to close will the ashes burn a hole in the tent beds and/or screens.
We used to have a very old pup and it did that. Was wondering with a new camper how they were.
Any experience?
Happy camping,
Sherrie

that's one of the reasons to get popup gizmos or solar blankets for the bunk ends. they are much cheaper to replace.
the bunk ends are covered in vinyl and will resist embers much better than regular canvas. your old pup was probably just canvas.

i haven't seen many campsites that would place the firepit close to where the RV is parked.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but popup gizmos only cover the top of the tent ends; not the sides, right? So the gizmos will only offer you limited protection.

i've seen very few embers that can start a fire on a vertical surface, unless it's paper.
the most likely place for an ember to burn a hole is on top of the tent, not the vertical side. it takes time to burn thru the vinyl and then the canvas.

Question about the solar blankets. Are they the same or similar to pop up gizmos?
I made mine from solor blankets. Very easy project if you sew. A lot easier than the custome sheets I made for both beds, sofa and table. Ph</a>
