The brake controller mounted in my truck has been "clicking" for some time now. Lately, it's gotten even worse and is starting to get on my (&DW's) nerves. Any ideas what's going on with it?

Thanks!

What kind of brake controller is it?

I am going to guess that there is a short somewhere in the system. The clicking you hear is a auto resetting circuit breaker.

It's a Redline.

I'm not sure about it being a short and it resetting because it does it too fast for that. There's times it can click 10-20 times at once.

It's morse code for "Buy a Tekonsha". Seriously though, they do a frequent check of the brake connection as part of the monitoring. Do any of the lights or indicators flash when the clicking is happening. I am tending to lead to the short and resetting issue as well. Clean the connector on the trailer and truck and put a little dilectric grease on the connections and see if it clears up.

No lights flash, and it does not do it when the trailer is on the truck. Repeat, it only does it when NOT towing.
