We were in the woods cutting trees, putting up my tree stand & all day clearing the path & seeing how high a Case tractor can lift an F350. Driving back to the back hayfield we slipt off the dirt road over a culvert. We were wedged in the front wheel & bumper with culvert in between & the right rear back tire was off the ground that you could crawl under it. Tie rods & front axle resting on the ground. My brother tried to pull us out & finally had to bring in a tractor & lift us up. Can't see any damage, just the bumper a little bent. What a day!

How many days till the Rally?

update on Bob

I brought Bob home Friday afternoon he has an appointment Monday with the lung doctor so he can go over the pathology report from the biopsy. The neurologist told us Bob has so many spots on the brain
they can't count them outside Bob's room they both told me they are almost sure (without the pathology report they won't say 100%)
Bob's cancer is very aggressive small cell stage 4 and spreading fast. I haven't told Bob this but he knows he has lung cancer and it spread to the brain.

8/26/08: I've been asked many times were the main campfire is going to be. Not at my site that's for sure. LOL! At the fall rally it has been historically at site 71 but camp fires can be at anyones sites (In your designated camp site fire ring only please). I encourage everyone to move around and visit others in our group whether it's at your camp fire or your neighbors. If your looking for something a bit bigger than life then I always recommend the awning melter at Joe Kotts site

Sorry. I took this as there wasn't going to be a "group" campfire...

Yesterday I was at Erica's volleyball tournament most of the day, so didn't get much done. However, we had a wonderful neighbor come over with her son and help us trim all our bushes and trees! We filled up a 6x12 utility trailer with all the stuff we chopped down! I can actually see out my kitchen and living room windows again! Wahoo! Course, I couldn't find a pair of gloves, and paid for that today with the THREE slivers I took out of my hands this morning! OUCH!

Today, the girls and I went food shopping, but since I had my list all typed up and organized (I HATE it when I forget something stupid like baking soda, so I went through every recipe and figured out how much of what I needed for everything we're having!). Was back home in an hour and then it was time to organize! It's so much easier when all the onions are chopped, the cheese is shredded, etc. Goodness, I think I chopped up about 10 onions! I want to get more packing and cleaning done, but now it's raining outside, and I really don't want to be running in and out . . .

Mike, I just caught up on the rally thread. I'm so very sorry to hear about
Bob. Our prayers are with the both of you, and as Steve already mentioned, please let us know if you or Bob need anything at all.

Hang in there Bob and Mike.

Sorry to hear the rain is slowing you down Julie. It rained on us this morning at the campgrounds and I just sat and drank coffee and watched the other people scurry around putting their things away in the rain. Fortunately it stopped after about 20 minutes and we waited for some of the wind to dry everything. I got the basics done and We are getting ready to go to the store to re-supply for this coming weekend.
