Hello to all,
I havent been on this forum in quite some time (life's demands and all that) We are planning a trip from Connecticut to South Carolina at the end of July. (number one Son is getting married) Any suggestions on travel routes and a stopover destination would be apprieciated. I figure to travel 6 to 8 hours a day. This should put us somewhere in Virginia, for the first night. We are staying in Table Rock state park for the first few days in S.C. then it's off to Myrtle Beach.
Thanks

I would suggest Pocahontas State Park for a stop over, it's about midway through Va, just a couple exits south of Richmond. It's far enough off the interstate to give you a peaceful stop, has back-in AND pull through sites, water & electric and a dump station on the way out. They added a brand new camping loop last year too!
Pocahontas SP website

I got some pictures posted (does NOT include the new loop)...

Also, from the directions on the official website, I would recommend the Rt-288 entry, it's quickest & four lane!
