I'm tired of the tank level sensors and monitor panel in my 2002 RT C190P. I never know if they are right or not, plus, having tank levels in thirds is a little less information than I would like about the tank levels.
I see some information about the SeeLevel outside-of-tank sensors. They look pretty good, based on the information I'm finding on the web.
It looks like one attaches the sensors strip to the outside of the tanks to be monitored to the existing sensor wires, replaces the existing RT monitor panel with the new panel, again using the existing wiring, and it's done (although I'll be surprised if it's really that easy).
Anyone change out their stock RT monitor panel and tank sensors with the SeeLevel, or similiar, units? Information?
None of the liquid level sensors seem to work well. I don't even look at mine anymore. My fresh water tank is made of poly and I can see the water level in it. The gray and black tanks I can easily guess. Someone needs to invent some sensors that really work.

Outside the tank systems that use a foil on the tank (a capacitance system) aren't perfect but they work. I installed a new system (SeeLevel 709) on the Bus and had put a Snake River Electronics set on my previous diesel Bounder. Both good systems and I never had a single problem with either. Use caution picking which SeeLevel system you like as some use only one set of wires for fresh, gray, AND black and other SeeLevel systems use a wire pair for each tank. Since one is always a ground, you can use existing wires, but you need to be careful with which wire you assign to what tank and what you assign to ground. More a bookkeeping problem than an engineering one.
Well worth the investment and time to install. If you do it YOU'LL LOVE IT.

I changed my Jayco fifth wheel to Acu Gage system 6 months ago. Works great. I do not know why manufacturers do not use this type of system as a standard. The factory and 2 dealers spent 20 hrs trying to fix mine and never got the job done. Good luck, Jim
