Good greif Charley Brown, it's on the back side and you don't even have to look at it.
Yeah, cut the plug off. Maybe he'll introduce you to his friends, Smith and Wesson.
As long as you have enough power to run your stuff get over it. Maybe you should have stayed in a more expensive RV Resort where they would plug in your unit for you.

This isn't a huge issue, but common courtesy would dictate that they ask if they can use the plug. I often plug in outdoor lighting or an electric skillet into that recepticle to keep from running the huge power draw (skillet) through my coach. Now I would feel obligated to ask if it was okay to remove HIS plug from my OUTLET. What if they are using that outlet and short circuits your tower while you're gone or shuts the circuit breaker off to remove his plug?

Ooo, I stayed at one that "hooked up" for me and fried all of my electronics. All told, I think that stay was about $2 grand a day. How much is it in a resort? lol
DH will not let anyone plug into our post. He does not want anyone to have any excuse to be around the hook ups. It is a good way to lose an adapter and not from it getting fried, either.
Tell him you need the power plug and that he's going to have to move the connection to his own post. Polite, cordial, no harm done.

If there is a problem with power on his post, he should have the courtesy to ask you if he could plug into yours. Yes, it probably won't make any difference if he is plugged in to your post, but we think it is very rude. We always do our best to follow campground rules and etiquette, and dislike it when others don't. I would unplug the cord.

Yes, it would bug me for several reasons. 1)I'm paying for use of my entire campsite including the post; I'm basically renting it. 2) We also often use that receptacle for smaller things and I would want it open for us. 3)The person who has to come and plug/unplug would usually have to be very near our coach/bins/hookups. We would be uncomfortable with someone we don't know messing around back there. 4)It's just the principle of the thing. It would be understandable if they were having problems and came to you to ask for permission, but to neither unplug it nor attempt to ask you for permission is just plain rude!
For the record, at 39, I'm probably younger than most of you on this forum, so it's not an "old people" thing as someone else posted. I would be polite, but I'd still approach them and do as StanleyandIris stated.

OMFJHCA!!! You people are killing me!! It's just a darn extension cord plugged in to your post. If you're not getting charged for electric, or like a few others said, tripping over the cord, or if your rig is NOT losing any amps, then let it be.
GET A LIFE! And the poster who wants to cut the end off the cord...

I've always felt like even though we go back and forth about stuff and have strong opinions and disagreements, that there was no one on this forum who I would not want to camp next to. After reading this thread, I'm not so sure any more.
His post maybe dead. Maybe the campground management told him to plug in there. I had once where my post had a weak breaker, so I had to use the post next to me. No one was there, and no one pulled in, but someone could have.

I'd probably find out why it's plugged in and then decide if it's worth. If there's a legit reason and I perceive low risk to my belongings, no worries.
If it's because they are metered as a seasonal, I'd have it pulled as I detest "cheaters".

I bet you are the type who makes a special trip to Wal-Mart to return a $2 item because something about it just wasn't right, and then complains for 10 minutes holding up the line. Old people are just so bored they'll do anything to have something to complain about.
Best thing to do would be to just talk to the neighbor when he gets back and not be a jerk about it.
That was uncalled for! having the energy to stand in line in walmart to return a $2 item takes stamina!!! wtg oldies but goodies!!!
we had someone hook up their cable off our coax cable at a private campsite. they unplugged us put an adapter with 2 hookup things and plug into ours. we thought something was wrong with our hookup dh went out to investigate and discovered this. we called the management they came over and unhooked him.
some people are just rude and have no thought for others. i would say i needed the plug period, it's yours.

Next thing you know, they'll be borrowing your firewood. Then your lawn chairs and next, the food off your Weber.
I SAY, PULL THE CORD
If you don't want conflict, tell him some rude person passing through his campsite must have tripped on it.
