Always the toughest part of dog ownership, wait a few months and go to the local shelter, just to look of course!

Somehow my wife and I always come back with a new friend, the last one is named Duke and he is laying by my feet right now as I type this.

Sorry for your lose.

I'm also sorry for your loss, I know the day will be coming when we lose Spot and it bothers me just to think about it. They can be so much more than just a Dog.

Take care.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I know exactly how you are feeling. I had to do the same thing last summer. It was brutal. Dave.

We have a Black Lab, Sparky. He is almost 12 and failing. Once we ran along side as we rode our horses. Then he walked long distances. Then short distances. Now he has the heart to run and jump but only walks slowly sometimes each step an effort but other times with the old spirit he once had. We love him dearly. I feel your pain.

My dog passed away back in March. She was 12 years old. It was somewhat sudden, as the day before she was catching frisbees and tennis balls as usual. She probably had a siesure, as I found her lying outside on the ground when I went home for lunch. Fortunately I was with her when she died, petting her softly and telling her it was okay to go. She was in no pain and went peacefully. I believe I gave her a good quality life. Events like this sure do mark time. Everything I have done since she has been gone has been different. I come home from work, no greeting committee at the door; I go get the mail, no little helper to carry the mail; camping, fishing, etc. and all the other things that you never will forget with your puppy. Hang in there.
