I'd go $10-$15 per night with 30 amps. It would have to be easy in, easy out from the highway & a pull thru. Actually when I'm traveling I look for a place close to the interstate. I'd like a campfire too, helps calm me down. State CG's are usually a good deal, & good people.

It's not the money ( within reason) it's about location. if I have to look for a place to turn a MH and toad around or go out of my way if the CG is mis-marked then it's a major hasel. I for one would be ok with paying a nominal fee at a Wal-mart etc... its about knowing what you are getting in to. many times the CG is hard to find and too often I am not ready to stop at 5PM and if I make reservations for the next night there is the pressure to be somewhere. Add it all up and for me it is most often less stressful to pull into a rest area or truck plaza or waly mart.

We have excellent state CGs here in Colorado charging $18 for electric (with access to water and dump station) or $22 for full hookups. A lot of them have nice big pull-thrus with no need to unhook. As an added bonus some of them are even close to stuff (Cherry Creek in Aurora/Denver and St. Vrain right off of I-25 north of Denver).

Our National Parks have no hookups, and they're $18 for folks with no card. $16 is what a site "used" to be with full hookups. LOL Been a while back. Considering power for a MH is about $1.50 a day, it may be a little high. Probably more like $10 with power would be a good price for in and out.

Well that's not a bad price for ground we already own & paid for all the improvements that are there and pay the folks wages that work there. Shouldn't have to have a card to get a price break, just proof of citizenship. But I go. Would be glad to pay $25 for a 50 amp site & a dump station on the way out. $75 if I could park next to Sully.

that is sort of my feelings. I would pay about $10 for electric only, any more and I will get an elec./water site myself.

There is a town park in Iowa we stay in run by the american legion and they charge 10 bucks for water adn electric and have a dump and a bath house though the bath house is not very pretty or even very nice. It used to be 8 bucks wather and electric until last year. It is right off the main road and has 50 or so spots and nice grass. They even turn a profit and it is no the honor system too. I have seen the interstate campgrounds but most of those Liek the ones on I81 near blacksburg VA require unhooking and backing in. FOr a trailer when it was designed it is fine for a motorhome it is a pain. I would pay 15 bucks for water electric and a dump near the interstate with a pull thru. I woudl even go to 20 bucks a night.

Close to freeway, pull through with no disconnect, 30 amp only is worth 15-20 bucks to me. I have enough tank capacity for a week, so water and dump is not an issue for me. If the weather is cool, no electric is ok too.

We all want different things, for some of us,......Walmart, and ONLY Walmart, is what we want (for a quick, no-nonsense overnighter). It looks like we're the lucky ones, we already have what we want.
Here's something that nobody seems to want to bring up. On our 41 ft unit, we have a couple of 15,000 roof airs, both directly feed one long duct which has several vents along its length. We run both air units while we fix something to eat, and while we unwind after being on the road all day. Our Onan Quiet Diesel generator is located all the way in the front of the motorhome. When we go to bed, we only leave the front air conditioner on. With this arrangement, noise in the bedroom is NOT an issue. I can only sleep when it's dark and quiet, and that's one reason we bought this motorhome.
Security? We never worry about security. Shoulder holsters is the norm for us, even when one of us goes out to take the puppies for a walk. Yes, yes I know it's not for everyone, but I'm only talking about us. For some reason, we don't see anything wrong with "carrying", but that's just us. I certainly do not recommend it, Im just trying to qualify the Walmart issue.
The bottom line is that you prefer your way,....and I do NOT have a problem with that at all.

Sounds just like where I want to drag my bride off to....somewhere I have to wear a shoulder holster to walk the dog....

And this thread ISNT about WalMart...its about what someone would PAY for the minimum amount of services!

Most places we travel in the summer, ya gotta have A/C. If you run it off the generator, it's gotta cost you $40 or $50 per night just for gas.
