I use a $15 ceramic heater myself, takes up less room and puts out the same heat. For $5.99 I bought a DVD of a fireplace at Wal-Mart and as a bonus, at christmas time it will play carols.

I have a fireplace in mine - won't have another. Granted it does put out heat and does look nice, but I can't have it and the furnace on at the same time. I'll go with Bumpyroad's solution next time.

My wife and I saw one and the TV was above the fireplace, both were in the front of the trailer.
The front/upper section was the living room instead of it being in the middle of the trailer. The bedroom was in the rear, the shower and toilet on one side withthe sink on the other and the kitchen was in the middle. It is our favorite 5th wheel floor plan.

I have one in mine and I absolutely LOVE it. Like someone said earlier, I can adjust it to many different setting as far as the flames and heat goes. This spring on the chilly nights, I left it on low for the dogs and used a little space heater in our bedroom.
We have a seasonal site and pay for electric, with both heaters running every night on the weekend, it cost us $18 for the month.....not too shabby, and a lot cheaper than propane.
Here is ours....with the protective plastic still on it when we bought it:

Dickinson cabin heaters
The site above has one heater that will burn pellets or wood.

hey if you are going to start a fire in a RV, you might as well put in a real fireplace.

Okay, Guys,
Thanks for posting.
Now---the next question: how many of you who did respond feel that you are towing a "little travel trailer"?

P.S. And did anyone notice my avatar at the bottom?
