Have you ever driven between Chattanooga and Atlanta on I75. Incidents like this involving trucks is almost a daily occurrence. I've driven all over this country and this section of road has the most aggressive truck drivers I've ever seen.
The last instance I was just completing the last part of a 4,000 mile trip in our motor home, without and instances of aggressive truckers and I was within a hour from home just south of Chattanooga on I75. I was in the middle lane passing a slower truck. Even though I was doing 70+ mph (speed limit is 70 mph) this truck came up behind me and passed me on the left. By how fast he passed me I suspect he was doing at least 85 mph.
I guess he felt I was not getting over quick enough, went passed me, blew this horn and then tossed his trailer at me when he went by, but stayed in the fast lane. I came with in a foot or so of hitting the trailer.
I travel this section of I75 daily to work and things like this happens with truckers all the time and not just to me. So folks be careful of truckers on this section of I75.
If I could have caught up with him, I would have got his truck number and reported him to his company. But no way was I going to match his speed to get that information.

Two weekends ago, I drove 630 miles in crosswinds approaching 35MPH with some gusts higher, and believe me, I moved over for plenty of them as I'm sure they did for me.
Stuff happens, just chalk this one up as experience.

1. Pay attention (if you're tired, take a break or stop for the day)
2. 55 is too slow if traffic is moving at 70. Try the backroads if 55 is your limit.
3. He's trying to make a living. You very well could have been the 10th person that pi**ed him off that day, and he'd just about had it.

I don't buy the road rage thing. Heck ya i drift, I'll take my half out of the middle on a two lane back road. It is an old habit from driving farm stuff, more than once I have had dogs, deer and other critters come on to the road. I expect all levels of driver maturity and skill. I guess I'm more forgiving than some of you in that respect.

As long as you are with in the posted speed no slower 45 to max 70 MPH you are not being a hazard only to those who insist on speeding. A lot of states the speed limit is 55, 60, 65 when towing. We usually run 55 to 60 in the right lane and have had few problems with most drivers. It's the ones who have to do 70+ and decide they need to cut you off so they can get off the exit right in front of you.
We have all had those times when we've drifted over a little and I've had trucks give me a yell on the CB to let me know. Usually with a joke about it.

some truckers are just annoyed by RV's. we were travelling a three lane freeway, moved from the far right lane to the middle because of some rough sections in our lane bouncing everything in the rig. a trucker came by on the left and honked and flipped us off. we were going above the speed limit, he just seemed to be annoyed that we were not in the far right lane. another time 1-10 by L.A, (horrible) a trucker on the CB was talking we could see them behind us they said something like "as soon as I get around this damb camper". They have a lot of stress with gas prices and dead lines, but being angry doesn't help.

You screwed up and who knows for what reason the truck came over. I'll take my chances with the professional truck drivers vs many who are driving or towing an RV. Which would you like to meet on an narrow bridge?

Have you stopped to think if you ran the truck off the road when you drifted a foot into his lane because you weren't paying attention you could have been charged with vehicular homicide?
Hopefully you will learn to watch the road before you injure or kill someone. No sympathy from me for your screw up.

I did have a toad, so 55mph is the maximum speed allowable by law in this and most states. I'm sure most of us have drifted, this just happened at the wrong place and wrong time. He was coming up at least 15mph faster than me over the crest of the hill. It probably scared him as much as it scared me, but I was still shocked at the reaction, getting the finger I could understand, a big blow on the horn I could understand, but physically pushing me off the road on purpose was uncalled for and possibly life threatening for me, my two young children and my wife and possibly even himself. By the time I got everything back on the road and over the shock, he was gone so I couldn't get any information.

Wasn't me..wasn't there....but you ASSUME he purposely cut you off...maybe...maybe not..lots of variables here...lesson(s) learned..1. There are some bad drivers out there and 2. We need to pay closer attention to our own driving....Be courteous and safe....JMO
