Requesting suggestions for a nice state park or other nice park in central to western Virginia. Must have at least water & electric for a 38' fifth wheel. Or even something near Va. in N.C.

Every suggestion has been for Central Virginia. Even Roanoke is closer to the ocean than it is to the western tip of the state. Hungry Mother Park near Marion, VA, Grayson Highlands State Park near Mouth of Wilson, VA, Grindstone Campground near Troutdale, VA, Stoney Fork Campground near Wytheville, VA are but a few of our dozens of parks that are truly in Western Virginia.

I have been to Riverview Campground near Narrows and Pearisburg Virginia several times. It is located on the New river. Most sites are permanent, my in-laws have a spot but I take my fifth wheel. They have sites with water, sewer, and electric, bait shop, rec center, shower facilities, etc. The river is really wide at this point and is great for tubing lazily down to the boat ramp and walking back up. Most of the sites directly by the river are water and electric only though. It is like a trip through time. The scenery is gorgeous, surrounded by mountains. I love sitting by the fire at night as the trains pass by. They have also have a nice park and picnic area, and over the 4th they had fireworks, live music, and served food on the grill!
Back from Goose Point and I thought it was great ($21 a night didn't hurt either). Our trailer is 33' and the only problem was scraping the inside tires (SLIGHTLY) on an inside curb while navigating C loop (prior posts indicated it was unavoidable and ...it really was) We had site 18, pictured above by GoneCamping (motorhome) which had room to spare and would easily ne accessible to your rig. You too would problem just sustain a minor inside tire rub (don't jump the curb too early....tree). CG reviews everywhere say it's a horror to get into, with a 5 mile entrance, but it wasn't too bad.
