I was once driving on a two-lane stretch of interstate on I 70 in western MD. I was in the right lane, there was a car behind me, and there was a semi in the left lane. There was a tight on-ramp that entered the interstate with a curve, and as I got almost to the end of it, a car decided to not yield and pulled out into my lane. I don't think she even looked to see if anyone was approaching. I had absolutely nowhere to go, and the semi to my left saw it all instantaneously and swerved onto the median shoulder a bit just so I'd have a quick place to the left to go. It was a very scary second or two, and he may have saved mine and my young sons lives! A hardy wave of thanks just didn't seem like enough! Kudos to those truckers! Most of them are great and even flash their lights to help us move back over after we pass them in the MoHo. I agree; they deserve our respect.

Good to see folks post positive comments. We so often accentuate the negative and forget to appluad the positive.
I can tell some bad experience stories, and have, but it feels so much better to shine a good light when possible.
I am about tleave in a couple hours with 3 of our trucks to head to OK to do a job. Perhaps we will have an opportunity to make someone's day, maybe one of yours, a little better on the road.
At times I think people have a death wish. Passing over double yellow, following so close the only way you can see them is their shadow if the sun is low. Hanging out in the lane next to a truck forever. I love the people that you pull over to let on, and they stay next to you and you have to speed up, or slow to get back over. Turning on your signal sometimes gives them the idea. When I pass someone I speed up and get clear as fast as safe. To many things can happen. I have had tires explode, and you do not want to be behind or next to one when they go. I am very aware of the tires on trucks I drive and check them often. I have had new tires go, or hit something laying on the road the first tire will pick it up, and the second tire will hit it. I have had things come into my lane that I could not avoid because of cars beside me.
OP, thank you for your comments and enjoy your new coach! I've been OTR for over 40 years and have logged over 4 million miles. I would like to see and hear the CB language cleaned up over the airwaves it's getting better but improvement is still needed. I'm going to retire in 15 months. John
