Link to KC RV story
"Police are investigating a huge wreck in the metro Thursday morning involving a police car, RV and semi. ... The driver of the RV hit a deer at some point, pulled over, and that is when a Kansas City, Missouri Officer came to the driver's aid. Eleven people were inside the RV. ... Then, a semi truck going westbound came up onto the shoulder and hit the RV. ... At least two children were taken to the hospital. No one was seriously hurt."
Another story, with hair-raising details about the events:

My greatest fear about having to stop along an interstate: People look right, then steer right. Probably why so many states have passed laws that require you to move over to the left -- when you can -- if you see emergency vehicles stopped on the shoulder of the road.
The folks this time were lucky. But the trucker will probably get his ticket pulled.

One of my biggest pet peeves!
It's amazing how many times I've moved over one lane only to have someone zip into that lane.

wow, very very lucky. I guess if we breakdown and stop on the side of the road we should not sit on the road side in the RV.
Have a great time camping,

Those folks are just mighty darned lucky that there weren't several fatalities in that accident.
The deer population around the Kansas City area seems to be worse than I have ever seen.

There were eleven people in the RV. What kind of RV was it that holds eleven passengers (legally)? Mine only has seatbelts for six.

I guess it was a MH, in that toward the end of the vid. they showed a jeep that looked like it may have been the toad. 2nd or 3rd incident I have heard like this where someone on side of the highway was hit. Getting scary out there.

The other point being Virginia to Montana with that many people. I guess some people have more money than brains.
