We will be heading to Hilton Head next Friday for 1 week and wanted your opinion on things we "must do" during our stay. We will be taking a day trip to Savannah as well so if you have any suggestions on that please include them.

For your daytrip to Savannah, the best way to get an overall view is to take the city tour, I think it's the Old Town Trolley or something similar. You can see the highlights with the history in an hour or so and then go back and take a little longer to see what interests you.

In Hilton Head don't miss Hudson's Seafood great oysters and shrimp
In Savannah take the city tour on the trolley you can get off and on and don't miss lunch at Paula Deans Lady and sons place. You need to get there early and get on the reservation list.

I own a lot at Hilton Head RV Resort and Marina, great place to park a RV. Nice to sit on the waterway deck and watch the dolphins. Alot of great restaurants on Hilton Head, especially the Marina' Sunset Grill, awesome food! We love the Oyster Factory too. Perfect area to rent a bike at the beach and ride to Sea Pines. Tons of bike trails.

Creeper, it sounds like you don't think 1 day in Savannah is enough. We are open to going back 2 days if we need be. We were planning on going to Tybee Island on a different day since it's only an hour from HH.

I don't think so, but hey I live there and haven't done it all. I can spend hours just walking down the streets. Each street has a charm all it's own. The beautiful squares each have their own charm. People have nicely decorated homes and leave the blinds wide open for you to admire. The small gardens are also very interesting.

I have friends who have been here half a dozen times and each time they want to head straight downtown. So many good places to eat.

It all depends on the person.

Savannah is awesome! The trolley tour ride takes at least half the day, as you can get on and off as you wish. Great tour! Funny and historical stories and sights galore.

Food is excellent, too. Yeah, if you can spend more than one day, please do!
