well, just upgraded today to a hybrid travel trailer, and while my wife and I were getting all our stuff out of the Jayco Jayseries 1006 model for the trade-in , the top would not crank down and felt very tight going up. What's going on here? Do you have to crank the thing all the way up in order to crank it down or is there a broken something going on? Its in our side yard and the things still under warranty. Thank the Lord. Anyone ever experienced this?

You might have a cable that has lodged into the Wiffle Tree. Try to crank the pup roof up all the way to see if this resets the Wiffle Tree. Good luck Also congrats on the new HTT.

Jayco's don't have whiffle trees! Sounds like maybe the cables are binding somewhere or are off a pulley.

Here's a copy of the L&W lift system repair manual that jayco uses: http://www.rvworkshop.com/L_W_lift_system_repair_manual.pdf

I called my dealer yesterday because the right rear corner of my PUP won't go down the last 1 inch or so. They said it sounds like I have a bent lift spring. It's something that I can't fix myself and I will have to bring it in. We got is less than a month ago and they will fix it under the 30 day warranty. I just have to make a couple more trips to do it. One to take it there and one to bring it home when it is fixed...unless they can fix it while I am there.
As it is now...it is closed but the rood does not seal out any rain on the back rightside corner. I will probably put it back up untill I have to take it to get fixed.

Sincerely,

Jay

We have had the problem with our back corner not going all the way down on occasion, we have always been able to push it down. When we replaced the top, we had to lift it several times before we got it squared away and coming down together. Now it is coming down even. But ours is a Flagstaff, so we may have a different lift system.
