We picked up a new 2009 Shamrock 233 today. We ordered it many months ago and are very glad the waiting is over! All systems are go. We spent about 3 1/2 hours today with the dealer doing the walk thru and getting a couple of minor problems corrected. Many thanks to all Forest River posters here. The marker lights are caulked up really nice. The gaskets on all three bunks fit well. It is getting a rain test tonight!

Tomorrow we are heading out for a 3 night shakedown cruise.

Only one problem found since we left the dealer. DS leaned on an open drawer and popped it off the guide. When I went to fix it, I noticed that I could see daylight behind the drawer. Seems the caulking around the plastic liner in one of the wheel wells is missing. Will have to talk to service tomorrow before heading out.

We survived the shakedown cruise! We dry camped for 3 nights with 5 adults, had hard rain one night, had to pack up in the rain, got lot's of sand in the trailer, and had no major problems. The trailer towed very nice.

Before we left, I discussed the wheel well problem with the dealer and they recommended using Liquid Nails until we can take the trailer in. I bought some fresh Liquid Nails on the way and brought my caulk gun on the trip. I caulked the seam up by removing the drawers and applying the caulk. I pressed the liner up against the trailer frame using a couple pieces of firewood. The seam held tight during the 130 mile return trip.

Mod number 1 was to take the jack wheel off and replace it with a pad. Who would try to move one of these trailers by hand?

We did encounter a number of very minor problems with the trailer, including a finicky zipper, a zipper that will not open all the way, and some mattress stitching that is unraveling.

I already have a long list of to-do's, but time is tight. We are heading out next week for five nights of dry camping.
