Have an 8kw, hear a hum, but like others have said the roof air is louder, pretty well insulated, quiter than the genny I had in the rear on my last MH.

Ditto for our 15KW PowerTech. Also can't hear it while parked with the TV on low volume.
I don't know how they do it, but my Onan is very friendly. I guess that's why they named this model 'Quiet Diesel'. Ours is all the way to the front, mounted on a heavy duty slide which makes it convenient to do oil changes.

We had a 7.5kw Onan in our 91 Beaver Contessa that was mounted right behind the driver's steer tire and it was noticable while stopped. Not while driving. It was not the 'Quiet Diesel', only the compartment sealed it from the outside. Our Dynasty has a 10KW Quiet Diesel mounted right up front and it is extremely quiet and user friendly. Like others have mentioned, you can feel a slight vibration and maybe a little hum when camped but driving down the road not a thing. Mike.
