Heading out on our first trip , 99 Southwind. Checking list twice etc, do we need any adapter or cord for the electic hook up at sire? We have the balck cord in the Rv but am wondering if we are missing something.

Make sure you have a 30 amp to 15 amp converter plug / pigtail.

If you have a 30 amp cord ( 3 prong plug with the terminals arranged in a triangle) you probably will do just fine. Almost all campgrounds have 30 amp setvice. If you have 50 amp (4 prongeed plug) you will need an adaptor to use a 30 amp service. Some campgrounds have a limited number of 50 amp sites. I wouldn't be too concerned though since almost every campground store carries any adaptors needed in their park.
If you have a 50 amp (typically a larger RV) connetion and the CG only has 30 amp service, you will need an adaptor. Parks that have this limitation often have the necessary adapter for sale, or sometimes you can "rent" them from the CG.

You didn't say if you had a 30 or a 50 amp service. If you have a 50 amp service in your rig, you should get a 50 amp to 30 amp adaptor also. Click here
This will cover you in case you go to a place where they don't have 50 amp service available.
If you have 30 amp service in your rig, you are good to go.
One other thing you may wish to consider is getting a device to protect the electrical circuits and equipment in your rig. Look into one made by Surge Guard or Progressive Industries. They protect against power spikes, incorrect wiring in the campground circuits, and hi/low voltage conditions (which are common).

If it's listed in the Yellow Pages, the government shouldn't be messing around with it.
It would be good today to go out and make sure everything is working...ref.water heater, water pump, stove, air conditioners, generator. start the generator( be sure and check oil level first) open the propane valve at the tank, and you should be able to check everything out.
It's friday, you can still get parts and get stuff fixed, it's much easier to take care of any problems before you hit the road.
The others have talked about your shore power, so all I can say is welcome to the forum and have a wonderful maiden trip.

I suggest that you get at least one extension cord to keep with you. I know you can get a 30 amp cord at Wal-Mart, but I've never looked into 50 amp.
I have not needed it a lot, but I did need one the first time I used my HTT. It was really frustrating to get all set up only to realize my cord didn't reach all the way to the outlet.
Have a great trip!

We have a 30 amp rig, and have had to use a 50-30 adapter more than once because only 50 amp outlet was available. Note many post above use words like "most" or "usually". So how much of a gambler are you? I carry all adapters I can use, and have used them all at one time or another.

We bought our first motorhome and it didn't have an extension cord to connect to shore, so I bought one at CW for about $40.00. I threw it in the RV and headed out for our first trip. After we got set in our space I tried to connect, only to discover we had that rare motorhome that requires a 'Marine Connection' to the rig, so my extension was no use. We fished up driving the coach through the town looking for an RV shop that had a suitable cord. We found one and it was $175.00. Of course there's a lesson here. Check that you not only have the cord, but that it's the right cord.
