We received a $10 parking ticket in a Branson, MO municipal parking lot two weeks ago, for parking across the lines. This was a large lot that was only about 10% occupied. In other words, there were many empty spaces. I parked our one-ton dually in the lot, (we pull a 5th wheel) and crossed the lines, on purpose. If I stayed within the lines the front of the truck stuck out and could interfere with moving vehicles. I picked a part of the lot so as to not cause problems and further away from pedestrian ingress and egress. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with the ticket as I do not believe it makes sense. I guess Branson, MO is not very RV friendly. With the price of fuel, the city should be very appreciative of our trip. I do not plan to return to Branson!

It makes sense to Branson. They now have $10 more in their treasury!

I agree. That would irretate me as well. However, I wouldn't let a $10 ticket decide if I return to a place that overall I enjoyed.
Goofy things happen all of the time. Like once I was in your state going to Cedar Point and got routed through downtown Sandusky...what a hole...right then and there we decided we would not be coming back...that was before we had even seen the park and surrounding area, which were wonderful, Needless to say we avoided poor old Sandusky and still had a wonderful time...and would definetly come back.

We love Branson but I would agree it's certainly not RV friendly, heck it's not really car friendly either. I don't know the parking lot your referring to but frankly all of Branson is one big bumper to bumper parking lot. That said we're used to it and try to work around it. Arrive/depart at off times and utilize the busses when we can etc. It's one of our favorite weekend getaways.

If you go to a "tourist trap" expect to be treated as a "tourist".
Being treated as a tourist is not all bad but with law enforcment officers what do you think they would rather do? Ticket a local that could fight the citation and posibly cause trouble, in small towns they know they might be giving a ticket to a relitive of the mayor,
Or ticket an out of towner that will shut up and pay cause a 10.00 ticket is not worth comming back and fighting.
Remember in the movie Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. They stold plates off the locals cars because the "cops won't hassel a local".
Pay the fine and smile.
Not much eles you can do.

My last trip to Branson was our LAST. Traffic there is unbelievable all hours day and night!! You have to leave your CG 3 hours early to ensure you make a show or event. Lake of the Ozarks offers many of the same ameneties (I am not an oldies show person) with much less traffic, and closer to my home base. We will be there in two weeks, cannot wait!!

You committed a parking violation and got a ticket.
Granted, it was unfortunate. However, you committed a violation and were ticketed. That happens.

My bank would charge more than the $10 ticket charge to stop payment. Stay safe and pay up.
