I was in Branson the 8th-13th.
We had a great time.
WHile I was sitting on a bench out side the 5 and Dime a saw a police officer righting tickets. There is a 2 hour parking limit on the streets and he goes around and marks the back of tires to keep up with how long you are parked.
I was in a minie bus and I parked at the Landings.I parked at the end of the lot and went over the line in front of me.We used the trolly tho get around down town.
Where was this lot?

Branson has changed! Sadly the old Branson is slowly torn down & a series of high dollar shopping malls replacing everything. Just look at Branson Landing! They pulled everything old fashioned & burned it. We have traveled to Branson every year sometimes twice, but haven't been there since 2006. I guess its great to have a dozen shopping malls & hundreds of condos

It makes sense that tickets are handed out for people that can't or don't park within the parking lines.....Chalk it up as your own fault and pay the $10

Yikes, we have a hard time parking our big old dully "within the lines" in some parking lots as well. I have to agree with the poster. It makes no sense to give parking tickets to tourists, when the parking lot has many empty spaces.
If a tourist town does not provide spaces for larger vehicles, what are you suppose to do?

Try it in NJ,see what happens. They will eventually catch up with you,and it will show when you try to register your vehicle or renew your driver's license.

I'm sorry for the wrong impression. I did pay the fine, I put $10 in the mail the following day. I never had any intention of not paying the fine. Unfortunately, the one ton dually did not fit within the lines without sticking out too far, which in my opinion was dangerous. Had the lot been close to full, I would not have parked there. The lot was located in the Old Town area above the Landings.

I understand the problem with the dually, but there are reasons for the rules. The amount of traffic ebbs and flows in Branson and can change quickly. You would be surprised at how many people take up two spaces side by side to avoid the chance of a scratch.

I agree there are too many shopping opportunities being added, but they add shows and attractions about as fast.

The Lake of the Ozarks can't be compared to Branson, apples and Oranges. The "Strip" can be a parking lot, with nothing but shops and food.

You live in Ohio, I doubt they will send someone after you for a $10 parking ticket, but they might if you followed the advice above of stopping payment on your check. You paid it - now forget it and have fun.

I got a parking ticket in Cour de lane ID last time there. SO when I went to SPokane I decided not to go back and spend any money. I wrote the Mayor a letter and said the same too that the ten dollar ticket was alot less than the sales taxes I paid there last time. I got a return letter saying sorry but we need to enforce our parking rules. I guess I have seen it one time and when I go there in the future we will not eat in the city or spend money there. There are many other places that want our business. Now we were in eating dinner and came out and were not there even 75 mins but had a ticket for parking longer than 2 hours. So their loss. I went to Jackson the next year adn spent my money.

Maybe if they made the parking spots big enough we would have to park over the lines.
