I've been using a brass water regulator that came with our first rig. A tiny leak on a built-in water filter holder has made me wonder if I need something better.
I looked through some archived posts and read one that said the cheap regulators just restrict flow - that they allow pressure to bleed past the restrictive orifice in the cheap regulator. That makes sense to me.
In that same thread, someone recommended the $50 adjustable regulator sold by CW.
I'm close to ordering one of those $50 wonders, but I wonder if someone has another recommendation.

Home Depot or Lowes will also carry Watts or Wilkins regulators.

Look at your City water connection on the inside. I had a leak on the inside of my city water connection, so I went to buy a new one and found that the new one had a built in regulator on it. When I removed the old unit, it also had a regulator built in. I still use the brass regulator at the hook up end. I believe the new and old units were from Shur-flow.

I bought a Watts 263A from the link posted by "downtheroad". The owner was very helpful when I e-mailed back and forth before purchase. I also ordered a canister filter.
The Valterra one at CW also looks pretty good. A lot of folks here on the forum say the Watts ones are good, and they are rebuildable if it is ever needed. My local Lowes and Home Depot did not have anything.

Yeah, I think I'll probably order from that link downtheroad provided. I'd have to drive 25 miles just to get to the nearest Lowe's or Home Depot - and then be major league PO'd if they didn't have anything.
Thanks to all for the replies!

Make sure you buy the N55B or N55BG. they have the best flow numbers and flow is what gives you enough water for a nice shower.

You can do as you wish, obviously, but ignore the post saying the cheap regulators only change flow. That is totally wrong. The cheap regulators maintain pressure just as well as the expensive ones. What the cheap ones don't do is allow the same VOLUME of flow. The protection level is the same with both.
We have spent time in several campgrounds which had pressure over 100 psi. Our cheap regulator never allowed any damage to our plumbing. Several other campers, who ignored the warning sign at checkin and did not use as regulator, had significant plumbing damage.

Okay, well I have to consider another point that was made in support of cheap regulators changing flow only. The poster referred to initial high water flow / force when a faucet was turned on, then the flow diminishes after the built-up pressure is released.
I experienced that on a recent trip (the first time I had noticed it in the new rig).
That tells me that pressure had built up in the rig's system, then it was relieved of that pressure and the cheap regulator was then controlling the flow. But the regulator had allowed the pressure to build in the rig's system. What was the pressure? I have no idea.
The rig's system could handle that pressure, except for a fitting in the intake side of a water filter bracket (something that came with the unit). I took that as a warning that we had more pressure than we wanted.
Is my reasoning flawed? (Entirely possible - it has happened before)

I bought the n55bg today off that website. The expensive one I bought from Camping world broke in 2 months of use so figured I should spend about the same and get the better Watts one. Better flow too which is nice.
