I agree that Danforth Bay is better than Chocoria KOA. Been to both, seasonal at Danforth Bay presently. Danforth Bay is tough to get into in July without reservations. I know they had some full hook up sites open when we left last Sunday.
Whew...glad some others agreed about Danforth vs. Chocorua...I started to feel like I was being too negative, but I want them to have a good camping experience here!
We love MiTeJo too...you can tell the good ones, they're so hard to get in to! We book them a year in advance sometimes.
We're heading out soon to White Lake State Park for the first time...can't wait to check out a "new" CG.
Several people have mentioned Danforth Bay, but unless you have children I would pass and go to one of the others recommended. From my one time at Danforth Bay we found it geared more to families and seasonals with some roving packs of unsupervised teenagers. If I am looking for a campground to serve as a base of operations I would not sty at Danforth Bay. Danforth Bay is a very well run and clean campground but just wasn't our cup of tea.

I agree with the comments regarding Chocorua. We stayed there, and while we enjoyed it and the staff was very nice and accomodating, it did not live up to my expectations based on their website. I did leave a bit disappointed.
A good friend of mine stayed at Moose Hillock last year and really enjoyed his stay. Same friend has been going to Mi-Te-Jo for the last several years and was able to get me a reservation for next Memorial Day. I've tried for the last two years to get in. Obviously, it is quite popular.
I normally stay at Saco River Camping Area. It's quiet, clean, and many of the sites are spacious. I've also stayed at Cove Camping Area and enjoy that too, although I believe the number of hookup sites are limited.

I don't mind the site we are in at Chocorua. It's right on the water, plenty of space. The big problem though...the sewer connection is uphill...last I checked water doesn't run uphill. So basically I paid extra for a sewer connection I couldn't use and will have to dump my tanks tomorrow when we leave. The other thing that bugs me is the wifi. $2/day extra charge for it but they have 70 cable channels. Come on now! Throw in the wifi for free. After scoping the area out next time I visit NH I want to stay more in the White Mountains area near Mt Washington if there are any campgrounds?
Tomorrow we checkout and head to Apple Island Resort in Vermont to conclude our two week tour of New England. We'll be there 2 nights, 3 days. We're doing the Conway lunch train on our way out. Ben and Jerry's on the way then just explore VT and then head back to Ohio.

We were just up there for my nephews wedding and didnt bring the rig but stayed in a hotel. My brother in law brought his and stayed at Chocurua. We just drove hundreds of miles from NY and thought we would pay him a visit for an hour, but the front desk wanted $7 a person!!! Outragous!!! For us three for an hour would be $21!!! I wouldnt go near that place again. Go to Danforth we had a great time and let you visit your friends or family!!

Danforth is nice but last time i checked it wasn't exactly in the white mountains. Same with MiTeJo's. Again a super campground but not in the mountains by any stretch. There are plenty of campgrounds in the mountains. If you are looking for a nice campground, check out the Broken Branch KOA in North Woodstock, NH. This is not a resort campground but it is a really nice place that is well cared for with great hosts. There is also the littleton NH KOA. Camped at Moose Hillock a few years ago and was disappointed. Granted they have a great pool but its very hilly and i didn't think the sites were anything great. But to each their own.
