I just replaced the tires on my TT. Both the old and new set were/are Denman Express ST 205/75R/15's. Here the thing: the old set were stamped with a max rating of 65 psi. The new ones say 50 psi. Any idea why the change? Should I go with what is stamped?
Thanks!

Likely old tires wwere load range D. New tires are load range C. Note if so they will not carry near as much weight!!!!!
Better check your weight capacity begfore you drive anywhere.
Note over inflating tires just makes them MORE dangerous. IMO you should never exceed sidewall pressure ratings (on ST or P rated tires).

YOU BETTER CALL THE TIRE SHOP AND TELL THEM TO PUT YOUR OLD TIRES BACK ON UNTIL THEY GET THE RIGHT ONES FOR THE TRAILER...
you may have a very dangerous situation there... and until you find out I wouldn't take it anywhere...

I agree with Chuck and Gail> Better call tire shop and tell them they put the wrong tires on your trailer.

I agree that the old tires were a load range D tire witch carries the 65 psi max rating and the new ones are just a load range C with the 50 psi rating.
I think you need to check the load rating in lbs to see if the new tires are the same as the old tires, I'm thinking they will be lower. JMHO

Thanks, all. You nailed it. I'm glad I asked, and I'm glad you all answered so quickly. I know this will open a can of worms, but feel free to give me your opinion: since I'm headed back to the tire shop, should I consider getting bigger tires or even switch to LT's...

what is the trailer GVWR ?? Above 7k-8k and you travel at interstate speeds I would switch to LTs if possible. Some have gone to a Maxxis ST225/75-15 D load range in place of ST205/75's. Your choice.

you will have very few choices that will fit if changing sizes,, and it could get expensive to do...
you most likely have five inch rims... I wouldn't be afraid to use the 225x75x15 in LR D, even though they should be on six inch rims...

not necessarily... but a popular misconception...
if his rims are only rated for 65PSI and he runs LR E's at that 65 PSI the load capacity for the tire is the same as the LR D's...
