How do some of you know what loop you will be in before you arrive?
I just called to make a change to our reservation because somehow I was listed twice and hubby was not on there. I asked about what loop we would be in and they said we wouldn't find that out until we arrive.
No one knows what loop until arrival. While many folks make special requests for loops, they are not guaranteed. Personally I think folks agonize over their loop requests a little too much. I first went to FW in 1973 and have been back many times. I seldom make a request and have been happy every time.
But, keep in mind that the folks who answer the phone (i.e. reservations cast members) have differing levels of expertise regarding Fort Wilderness. Think about it, there are tens of thousands of Disney hotel rooms fitting into a few categories such as Value, Moderate and Deluxe and most rooms, no mater what property have similar size rooms, room capacities and rules regarding the room. So, the reservations cast members have most of the information regarding rooms in their head. Except for the exceptional reservations cast members, for Fort Wilderness they usually read what is on the screen in front of them. You may need to guide them with your reservation as you may actually know more about the campground then they do. At the very least, make sure they note the following things in the comments for your reservation:
* Type of camping unit (i.e. trailer, tent, motorhome/coach etc.)
* Length of your entire rig including tow vehicles and toads
* Number/location of all awnings
* Number/location of all slides
* Let them know if you have pets
If you do hav3e one, make your site request known when you make your reservation so they can note it on your reservation. You are much better off requesting the things you like about the site/loop rather than the site/loop itself. For example, if you like the site because it is near a comfort station, then request that, if you like it because it is in the back of the loop and is quieter request that. The problem with asking for a specific site/loop is that the site assigners really don't know why you wanted that site/loop. If your request is not available they really don't know what you might find as a comparable site.
You will not know what loop you will be until until you check in. We are Disney season pass holders and have been to FW many times. You can only REQUEST specific loops, etc., when making your reservation. Some of the loops are better than others - but it all just depends on your priorities. If this is your first time and you plan to make future visits, ride around and look at the loops, makes notes, and then request them in the future. GOOD LUCK....and have a ball. PCM
We are annual pass holders and have been to FW more times than I care to admit. We like the 600 loop and request it at the time of our reservation. As stated above there are no guarantees for which loop you'll be in, but I can say this, we've never stayed in any other loop than 600. Just our preference. Now we are going again in August and I did not request the 600 loop, I'm ready for a change but like I said we have been there so often that when we check in the staff laughs when the look us up. I may get 600 loop again without the request. No matter where you stay, you'll love it..FW is the Ritz Carlton of campgrounds in my opinion but than again I don't get out much..
Thanks everyone! I thought I had read several post where people mentioned what loop they were in so I figured while I was on the phone I would ask. This is our first trip there.
