I am frustrated at the inability of my coolers to keep ice more than 12-18 hours, even in moderate temps. Anybody have suggestions on a medium size cooler that can keep ice for a couple of days. We are two adults and don't open it up alot, so I know that is not the problem.
Thanks for any advice. Tim

Look at the tag on the cooler before you buy it. Brand doesn't matter. I bought one at Walmart 5 years ago that said it would keep Ice for 3-5 days in 95 degree weather. It does! Try using large chunks of ice instead of crushed. That also helps a lot.

MaxCold from Igloo Best we've found, by the end of our trip, 4 or five days we usually have to add ice, not with this! It has foam and thermal foil...I got them at walmart, fishermen love them.

Coleman Extreme Marine, white with handle and wheels. I've tried many others that just don't work.

All the "Max" and "Xtreme" coolers are good (I kind of prefer the brand with the locking lid). Pick-up some plastic bread boxes at Target/Wallmart/etc. to make your own block ice. Using block ice is probably more important than the cooler - heh!
good luck!

Ditto. We have the extreme cooler. We used to use empty plastic 5-qt ice cream to freeze blocks of ice. Still used some cubes to get in and around cans etc. Worked well. Dont use much now that we have the MH tho.

150 quart Coleman Xtreme coolers from Walmart - $80 and worth at least twice that. Load it up for a 3-4 day weekend and you will be dumping ice at the end of it.

Quart size zip lock bags make good block ice. If you have the room gallon size works.
