I have a TT that weighs 3600#. I am looking to get a power jack for it. This jacking up and down is for the birds. I am looking at either the Atwood or the Barker. I like the fact the Barker has the emergency crank on the top, but I have been told its under the level and water can get in there and mess it up? I have also been told that its next to impossible to find the internal ground? The Atwood has the emergency crank but its under the white case. I can get a Barker cheaper than the Atwood. What lifting capacity should I get? I have a 2 1/4". What brand is better?

Go for the largest capacity your budget will allow. Should you buy a larger TT you can transfer it over. We have an Atwood 3500 which we have been very satisfied with.

I have had the Atwood, Barker and now a 1 yr old Ulta Fab or whatever it is called. If it was me I would buy a 3500 Atwood. They are hard to beat !

I'd get one with a light on it. And get a 3500 lb jack because it must lift the rear of the tow vehicle when attached to the tongue.
You can usuallly find a good deal on e-bay.

Nothing wrong with Atwood jacks in my opinion but like it has been said get the biggest you can for the reasons stated.

Same here. Got an Atwood 3500 this Spring, has a light and works well. I like the Ball Bearing Drive system. Sure makes using an Equal-i-zer much faster and easier!

Looks like the Atwood may be the way to go. It is a little more than the Barker but I want quality. Thanks!!

if you are worried about water getting into the power head, do as I do, put a bucket over the power head and worry no more. When you get to camp, you can always use the bucket for picking berries or as a sand bucket on the beach.

i have the barker and had to use the manual crank due to a battery problem, it woked very easily. i usually keep a plastic bag over the jack to keep water from getting in. better safe than sorry... but barker has a stellar customer support and they stand by their product..i also like the light , ive been very satisfied.
