We are going to Topsail over the fourth of July week. Can't wait!! We live in Vero Beach, fl. and travel to the Tallahassee vicinity the first day and then continue on to Topsail the next morning. My husband has had back surgery and can not travel more than 5-6 hours a day. We have stayed overnite in the KOA in Monticello the last few times we have made the trip to Topsail. This time we have a few extra days before we need to be at Topsail. Would like to stop off for a couple days somewhere SE of Tallahassee. Does anyone have any suggestions where to stay? Would like a full hookup with 50 amp if possible. We like to site see, swim, shop, antiques, etc. Dear husbsnd can not do any hiking, biking or walking for long periods. We have a 40' fifth wheel (toyhauler for disability scooter and golf cart) so we need someplace that is big rig friendly. We have already camped in Live Oak, Lake City and Starke. Would really like to try someplace new. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We've stayed at Carrabelle Palms a couple of times and loved it. It's right across the road from a public beach, and only a couple of hours drive south of Tallahassee. Another one just a bit further east, and is right on the water, and has it's own fishing pier, is Ho Hum RV park. We saw it but never stayed there, but we've heard some good things about it.

Been at Ho Hum for three months now and I love it. Much more reasonably priced and right on the water.
Talked to a guy the other day that has been stayiing at Carrabelle Palms and he is paying $725 a month and is moving here for around $400 a month, 50 feet from the water.
Free cable & WiFi, fishing pier, great rates and great staff. What's not to like!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Have actually been to Carrabelle last year on our way home from Topsail, really liked it. Was hoping to find a campground between Gainesville and Tallahassee. West of I75. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.
