Going to be passing thru this area and plan to spend a week visiting DW's family, some of who are in Tom's River and some in Bridgewater. Any suggestions for CGs that accept pets and have full hook-ups. Has anyone heard of Pine Cone Resort in Freehold? Thanks, AL C

Yes, Pine Cone is actually a decent CG. Friends stored theirs there years back. There are a few CGs in Jackson, a little closer to Toms River. Tip Tam is one I remember.

Turkey Swamp is a nice Monmouth County campground in Freehold Twp.,they have a lake, wooded sites, pull-thrus, and water & electric, & a dump station. You can also check out Allaire State Park in Wall Twp. but they have no hook-ups! Or try Tip-Tam (private) in Jackson Twp. or try some near the Atlantic City/Pamona/Tuckerton areas. Good luck!

Turkey Swamp is one of our favorites if you can do with just electric and water. There is a free dump station available, too.

You may want to check out Butterfly Camping Resort in Jackson. I've never stayed there but have heard only good things about it. Or we've stayed at Cedar Creek in Bayville. Campground is mostly wooded with some spots being very tight, but the area by the pool is very open. Depending where in Toms River your relatives are, Bayville may be a close option.

Tip Tam in Jackson is another option but I believe it's mostly seasonal sights. Looks nice though from when we've driven by.

I believe they are your closest bets for Toms River.... If I think of others, I'll post them.

Been to Pine Cone on two occasions, no problems. They were in the process of expanding one area to 50 amp, which I believe on their site map is listed as "A-section".
Only slight disappointment is on both occasions we were there (once summer of 07 & once summer of 06) the campground owners children were running the office while the parents were working. There was a grandparent on site, for assistance. At the time they were like 12 & 15, put a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't have any problems at all with the children, they were nice & knowledgeable. But always wonder "what-if??"

Curious on your "review" after your stay. Wonder if things have changed.

No other suggestions with full hook ups, as we stay either this place or allaire when visiting daughter in monmouth county. Good Luck

Butterfly is by far the nicest one in the area. I checked every one of them out last year as we were looking to go seasonal and that is the ONLY one I would've even considered. The rest were absolutely disgusting. BEWARE!

butterfly is nice, but pricey and caters to seasonals more than their transients and doesn't care as much about transients.

You might try The Ocean County Fairgrounds, it is next to Robert Miller Airpark. They have electric sites but don't know if they rent to individuals or not. We have been there several times with an RV club.
