In reference to an earlier post, I see that campimg world sells a adapter to use a 30 amp cord to plug into a 50 amp outlet. Has anyone used this before? Are there any concerns in doing this? As always thanks in advance.

No problem and a handy thing to carry. We have had to use them when in crowded camprounds to double up on a power pedestal. Used mine only a few times, but glad I had it when I needed it.

This only uses one 120 volt leg, but because true 50 amp service are 50 amp X 2 legs, you will have a full 50 amp at 120 volts AC.

I have used both 30 amp into a 50 amp and 50 amp into a 30 amp adapters
No problem (save in the 2nd case you have to be careful not to draw too much power)
Both work well, There is, In theory, a danger in plugging a 30 amp cord into a 50 amp outlet with an adapter however in practice the danger is very very very very slight.
The danger is if you draw 49 amps due to a partial short on a 30 amp cord it might get hot enough to catch fire... Of course, it's next to impossible to draw that kind of power due to a short in the cord.. You are more likely to draw like 90 amps due to a short, thus tripping the 50 amp breaker and preventing a fire.
Only once have I ever had a RV power cord get hot enough to be uncomfortable to my hand.. That was due to sunlight, not due to electrical current
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Use it when 50 amp is not availbale, works great, you may have problems running both ACs on 30 amp. Keep it handy in the electrical cord compartment.

This is a handy adapter to have on hand since there are smaller RV Parks that provide only 50 Amp service.

We stayed at a place that had only 50A. Of course, they would be happy to sell us an adapter, but I found them at half the price at Wal*Smart. May never need it again, but I'm prepared in case...

I would "assume" that his RV has only a 30 amp breaker.
