My camper had a thick fabric cover that snapped over the vent opening using heavy duty snaps like from a winter coat. It kept the light out and provided a bit of insulation from cold/heat as well. It also had these covers for some of the side windows and the door window.

my bedroom vent had an aluminum opaque lid on it, not clear plastic.

You could take a piece of dark fabric and apply some heavy duty Velcro dots at the cornors. Air should get thru and light keep out.
When I say dark fabric, I also mean something with a tight weave or it will not keep the dark out.

I think that I will see if I can get the black vent cover. That's a good place to start.
The boss tried putting paper up there which work for the light, but doesn't let the air through.

Go to your nearest RV Dealer and buy the foam insert that will fit into the square vent opening or go to Wal Mart and buy the foam and cut to size. works great.

We have a vent over our master bedroom in our Max-Lite and I purchased a vent cushion at Camping World. It fits snug into the vent. It keeps the light out and easy to use. I also bought another one for my other vent. Makes a big difference. I paid around $15 for two.

If you have a high efficiency fan in the vent, then get one of these.

I second that idea - in fact, I resemble that idea. We have a ceiling vent directly over our master bed. It was nice at night, but more than a bit annoying in the morning according to the boss. She wanted it solved and I invested in the black MaxxAir vent cover - problem solved as much as possible. The only other option would be one of the velcro or snap covers.
I agree as well. We put the black one over our bed. Works pretty good.

Another idea is to make a cover using solar screen. Cut to fit then use Velcro to attach to the inside frame of the vent. It will let air thru and should darken the room.

This is what we did. Used a piece of foam from and old kitchen chair cushion, cut to fit.

I don't think I owuld like a vent over my bed either.
That would sure be an easy one to miss.
