By "elevation" you mean "altitude?" Our BFA Spec C does not have that adjustment, but it does have high and low mixture adjustments on the carburetor. The tension of the choke spring/element is also adjustable.
Let me know what your model is.

I'll get the Model and try to snap a picture this weekend for you.
Also going to see if I can squeeze my arm back enough to be able to reach the back plug, didn't think I could last time I tried. Do you have to remove anything to reach yours?
yes, I meant Altitude.
Any luck on getting yours to stay running when letting go of that button?

OK, I went out to the generator yesterday and took a look. The altitude setting goes from 0 - 10K ft, which is about 1/4 turn. Adjusting it doesn't seem to help or change anything.
To get it to start, I have to hold the manual choke down. When it starts I get a ton of white smoke for the first little bit.
After it starts, it idles high for a second, then tries to idle down as low as possible and stalls out. If I hit choke right before it dies, it will rev up again and stay running. It will then run for a few seconds, before it tries to idle all the way down again. I go through this for a few cycles before it stays running at high idle.
When a load is on the generator (always), then the throttle pretty much runs wide open.
I think maybe the "autochoke" isn't working as it should. I popped the front of the round case, and found it has 2 terminals, and a face like a clock with tick marks all the way around. 2 Arrors, lean (clockwise) and rich (counterclockwise). I'm not sure how this should be set.
My model # is a 4BGEFA266100F

RV repairs have been on hiatus for a few weeks as I am having some work done on my house. I plan to work on the generator next week. I will keep you posted.

since it has no fuel filter could it have gotten some dirt into the carb and not letting all of the fuel it needs at idle.
