For those of you who have added a 2nd AC unit to your bedroom, did you use a thermostat or get one with the controls on the AC unit?

Also how many BTU's did you go 15, 13.5 or 11k I want to go with 15k but am wondering if there is a draw back?

Thanks

I ordered mine with the second A/C on the front. It has the temp controls on the unit. . . no remote thermostat.

I installed a small one as my second so I could run it when electricity was in short supply.

Our 2nd unit is a 13.5 with controls on the A/C unit itself. No remote.

I'd base the size of the 2nd AC on the size of my generator. Will you have enough juice to run 2 AC's and your convertor?

I'd probably go with a 11k unit, in addition to our 15k, that way I could run the 11k off of the ultraquiet Honda 2000 watt generator, so I wouldn't have to fire up the bigger Onan 5500 watt unless it got really hot out.
