Well I just returned from my first road trip with the Jayco and it performed as good as could be expected. The only thing I dont understand is that the Black water tank says its 2/3 full and yet when I open the dump very little water comes out (maybe 1/2-1 gallon). I even poured several gallons of water in the toilet to see if it would flow through but it just trickles. Any ideas???

Probably sensor problem, notoriously bad. In reading the post, it looks like you might have a clog in the exit pipe. You try something like Rid-X that grows bacteria that eat up the black matter, but it takes time, or maybe use a Flushking to try to backflush the exit drain from the tank.

Ditto the backflushing idea.If it only trickled out then there is a clog at the gate valve.

The black sensors are notorious for false readings. If you understand how they work you will know that all it needs is a very small wet piece of TP or ??? and the sensor will read full. Ridex will do nothing as your waste better not be in there that long!! Ridex is for septic tanks not holding. Do a search for the Geo method, follow it and use a flush king. Trust me I grew up RVing and have had several myself and I have tried everything and this combo is the best.

Use the Geo method, and follow up with the flush king.

My Jayco does this all the time buy a flushking, which I haven't yet. It's better than having to stick a garden hose up the pipe and wait for the FLOOD of "xyz" to come out and put the drain back on.

We have a Jayco and had the same problem, started to even get odor inside unit and was about to replace the toilet. Spouse stuck hanger up drain exit from the outside the coach and guess what came out? When the tank was drilled they pushed the circle back into the tank so everytime we tried to drain all that came out was the fluid! Sometimes we wonder if this is why even our gray tank seems to empty so slow now.

We had the opposite experience when our Jayco was brand new. The black tank valve was fully closed but was leaking out anyway! Yuck! So, back to the dealer, who took a look around and found that the circle of wood (mentioned above as being drilled out) had indeed been left and not removed but had jammed the valve into the 'open' position and wouldn't have closed for anything unless it was removed. Which they did, and now everything works great.

Oh, and the Geo method has kept our sensors reading as they should. Can't recommend it highly enough.

My black tank had a habit of plugging up and I used my Blue Boy to clear it.

After hooking a short hose and opening the valve I would step in the middle of the Blue Boy and the air pressure would clear the clog and the blackwater would flow. Then I'd open the vent cap and continue to drain the tank.

This way there is no mess and it actually works like a reverse toilet plunger.

Same as MoogRat.

After one the first few trips in our trailer, I was filling my black tank via a flush king. I was looking down the toilet with a flashlight(dont ask why) and noticed a roughly 4" circular piece of plastic float by. This was obviously the cutout piece when the factory did the plumbing.

A few trips later when flushing, this piece actually came out and lodged itself in a clear elbow attachment I was using.

Could be your problem.
