Hi everyone- we are heading out to Yellowstone later this week. I was wondering just how desolate the road was leading from the south entrance to the park to Douglas, Wyoming. We are leaving by this route. We have a new diesel TV and I was just thinking about the availability of fuel. Any comments?

Street & Trips shows 68 gas stations from Moran Junction to Douglas. The longest stretch between towns is from Casper to Shoshoni (100 miles) and there are 42 gas stations in that stretch. You shouldn't have any problems.
Plenty of stops for fuel. I never have gone farther than 250 mi before topping off and streching my legs. That way I always have several options for fuel. Never considered driving till the tank was almost empty and then start looking for fuel. Especially out west here where towns sometimes are 100 miles apart. Also never consider price just take what is available and enjoy your trip.
From Shoshoni to Casper is the ugliest drive in the state. Also a small amount of construction on Togwotee Pass but nothing to be concerned about. Beautiful scenery. Douglas is the Jack-A-Lope capitol too.
